It’s turning out to be a packed summer for The Method. We’re fresh off the heels from a blistering show at Rock and Roll Hotel and a quick trip up to NYC to make our debut performance at Sullivan Hall. After a couple weeks in the practice room, we’re back at it with two shows in two weeks in Fairfax, VA. On Friday, June 11th we’ll return to the Celebrate Fairfax! festival, where we opened for Blues Traveler last year. This year we’ll be playing immediately after Rusted Root! On Saturday, June 19th we’ll play at the summer concert series at Fairfax Corner. More details in the “Shows and Setlists” section.

On July 1, we’ll be co-headlining with our friends Ramzy and the Newscasters from Boston at Rock and Roll Hotel. You won’t want to miss that. Then later in July we’ll head up to Baltimore for the Artscape Festival, as well as an outdoor show in Arlington. August brings another trip to Sullivan Hall in NY.

Check out “Hear Us” for a couple new tracks. The first is a first take in the studio of one of our newest originals – “Dubroutine.” The second is the closing segment of a spontaneous jam that we were fortunate enough to record. We liked it so much we actually tried turning it into a mini song at a show in March. It’s posted as “Just One Among Many” for your auditory pleasure.

Reminder that The Method will be headlining Rock and Roll Hotel Thursday, May 20th and will be joining an awesome bill at Sullivan Hall in NYC on Friday, May 28th. We’ll be joined at Rock and Roll Hotel by our friends Lucky Dub and East Coast Caravan. Get there early to get warmed up, and we’ll start throttling people around 10. We’ll also have our original bassist and songwriter Justin Shuster join us for a special appearance. If you need a reminder of what happens when we play RRH, see this video (pay attention to how hard the crowd is getting down. You have that to aspire to):

Documentary on The Method

Almost a year ago, The Method issued its first studio release – “Boulevard Sessions EP.” During several studio sessions and at the April CD release party, we were followed around by local director Rob Rafferty and his loyal camera crew/editors – Dan Hayes and Clay Broga. They were interested in putting together a short documentary on The Method that would be issued at the 2010 DC Independent Film Festival. At long last, we finally had the pleasure of seeing the final product. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

The Method @ The State Theatre!

It’s with a lot of excitement that we’re announcing our first show at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. Any music lover in the greater DC area knows that the State Theatre, along with the 9:30 Club, is one of the few premier music venues around town. On Thursday, April 8 at 8pm, we’ll be opening for two great bands with similar feels to The Method – Anonymous and Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band. Check out the State Theatre’s ad for the show and get details on the venue and other bands. They’re fantastic. Hope to see you there for a milestone show for The Method.

The Method joins Lucky Dub, TNTrio, East Coast Caravan and friends at Skye Lounge to raise money for Haiti quake relief. Rock out all night for a good cause. The bar will also be donating a percentage of their take as well, so drink up!
